About Us
Oundle Education was established by Helen and Noel Toone in 1994, running Easter Revision Courses for A level and GCSE students in the UK. Later on we added an on-line tutor listing for tutors residing in the US as well as the UK. This service was free to students to use, but requested a small commission payment from tutors who got work via this site. Since there was no way of knowing if any email sent to a tutor by a prospective student resulting in any tutoring actually happening, it was in effect a voluntary commission payment.
After 2 years we had generated less than $200, which did not make much impact on our overall business profits, but at least covered the internet hosting costs. In those first two years we had at least 630 emails sent to the 100 tutors on our lists.
Oundle Education organised it's last Easter Revision courses in 2001, as Helen wanted to devote more time to her studies.
Now, after a break of almost two years, the online tutor listing is back, with a searchable database. We will be adding our current tutor listings to this database during the next week or two, meanwhile, new tutors are able to add their own listing.
